Corey Brown teaches in Korea and was placed by Aclipse!

On living in Korea:

I have been living in Daejeon, South Korea for about 8 weeks now and I am loving it. The city has an excellent transportation system allowing me to go all over the city without a car with relative ease. Around my apartment building there are many familiar eating establishments which include: KFC, Burger King, 7-11, Starbucks, Coffee bean. Krispie Cream, and a few stops away there is even a Costco! The city is filled with other foreigners who are either studying abroad or working at different Hogwans. I have already met people from Canada, Britain, France, Australia, New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia.

On teaching:

I have 5 classes with a total of 60 different students. Three of my classes are extremely well behaved that consistently participate in class and are a true pleasure to teach. My other two classes have some difficulties but I am getting them more under control and trying to address their difficulties. I really love the late start each day which allows me time to sleep in and go to the gym before work. Also Chungdahm provides me with a Korean assistant who does all the interactions with my students' parents.

On weekends:

I have been going out to the club district in town called Timeworld. There I have met people from all over the world and have had some wild nights clubbing and bar hopping with new friends. Already we have gone on a trip to the Mountains and seen a Buddhist temple, and this weekend we are making a trip to Seoul. I highly recommend Applying through Aclipse and becoming a teacher at Chungdahm Learning!

Cupcakes like they make it back at home !

Posted by Cindy Ung on May 9, 2012 at 7:42am 0 Comments

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have the biggest sweet tooth, specifically for chocolate and cake. My thing is the sweeter the better and since I have been in Korea, there has not been a cafe that satisfied this sweet tooth because the sweets are just not on point. That is, not until my recent discovery, by the Children's Grand Park in Seoul, Korea.

Le Fondant Sugar Craft, a small cafe in Gwangjin-gu, is probably the only place that will satisfy my cupcake cravings.…

OK....nothing but the truth here. Weight in Korea.

Posted by Stephanie Jean Guiles on May 6, 2012 at 4:00pm 3 Comments

I am a 37year old woman. I am attractive and stylish but I am over on the bigger side. I am not huge and I am also working on it and very active. I am very motivated to teach in Korea. Is my weight going to be a criterion on which i am judged a good or bad teacher? I can handle children saying things. Its not a big deal. I just want to be sure that the adults will not reject me as a teacher or co-worker because of my weight. As I said, I will be working on it all summer. Any input is…

Bottoms Up - The Adult Version Capri Sun

Posted by Cindy Ung on April 8, 2012 at 8:53am 0 Comments

Depending on the area of Seoul you are in, you can have an adult's version of Capri Sun for an average of $6 that is made from alcohol in a little street tiki or van vendor. The cheapest I have seen this drink get sold for is $1.80, but of course there was very little alcohol in it, it tasted a lot like a regular capri sun. I do suggest giving it a try for its cute packaging as well as its look because let me tell you, this thing is delicious. I suggest the Sexy Mild…
